Accra Technical University wins Zone E of UPAC basketball

Accra Technical University makes it to the National Championships for the 4th time Accra Technical University makes it to the National Championships for the 4th time

Record winners of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, Accra Technical University (ATU) have won Zone E in emphatic fashion.

The side completed an unblemished campaign with an emphatic finish in the final game of the zone against Pentecost University College. ATU trounced Pentecost 51-25 to end proceedings at the former’s court.

Prior to the shellacking, it delivered to Pentecost, ATU beat Wisconsin International University College in the opening game 39-21 before getting the better of Central University 42-25; Central would go on to end the campaign in second place with two wins while Wisconsin finished third.

2015 Most Valuable Player Award winner at Ghana’s Basketball Awards, Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan, was the star man of the show as he converted multiple three point shots to send his side coasting to victory.


Accra Technical University beat Pentecost University 51 - 25 in the final game of the Zone E qualifiers.

He also flashed his athleticism by delivering several thundering dunks to thrill fans. Shooting Guard Gabriel Numarworse also chipped in with conversions of his own from the three point line.


Accra Technical University beat Wisconsin 39 - 21.

ATU joins teams like All Nations University College and University of Ghana in the quarter finals due to be played on April 6.
