Kwaisey Pee tours Ghana from Nov 26

Ace Highlife artiste Akwasi Opoku a.k.a Kwaisey Pee is scheduled to begin a nationwide musical tour from next Saturday November 26 as a precursor to the launch of his fifth album “Konadu”.

The tour will see Kwaisey Pee make stopovers in all 10 regional capitals and 7 selected districts.

Appearing on Hitz TV’s COUNTDOWN show on Multi TV, the soulful highlife singer said his much-awaited album “Konadu” will be released in two weeks.

Although the album was due to be launched in December, Kwaisey says the launch is being rescheduled for February or March 2012 because of the activities he has lined up for the month of December.

Born to a legendary music icon, Agyeiku, Kwaisey Pee told COUNTDOWN host Magma that he kicked off his music career when he went to the United Kingdom with his father in the early 1990s.

He has since mastered his craft and currently has four albums; ‘Krokro Me’ released in 2000, ‘Akonor Yaa’ – 2003, ‘Nyane Me’ – 2006 and ‘Kume Preko’ – 2009, to his credit with the fifth album due in stores within a fortnight.

According to him, losing both parents at the same time last year has led to a change in his approach to his trade and how he writes his songs.

He cited ‘Krokro Me’, his maiden album, as his favourite album explaining that the album was thoroughly prepared with support from his late father.

The highlife crooner whose hobbies include playing football and writing music says he has a list of interesting projects lined up for the future which includes writing and producing songs for budding music talents.

But that is not all. Do not be surprised to see Kwaisey Pee’s name embossed on a shop somewhere in Abossey Okai as he revealed he has plans of joining the league of vehicle spare parts dealers and also venturing into farming.

The ten-track “Konadu” album will be a mixed one featuring artistes like Fresh Prince of 4x4 fame on the tune ‘She Ahwenee’ (wear beads), Tinny and an up and coming act known as Syn.
