Ato Godson's 'Nyame Beye' Launched

Ato Godson, a new gospel artiste, last Saturday launched his album, 'Nyame Beye' at the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministry, Kotobabi.

The album contains soul-inspiring songs that will surely lift high the spirits of any listener.

According to Ato, the title of the album, 'Nyame Beye' (meaning God will do it) is a reflection of how he struggled and finally God opened a way for him to get his album out.

"Am telling people that whatever their needs, their problems, it is God who will do it for them. It is by the grace of God that I am where I am now. We cannot do it by our own strength. We need God's help", he said in an interview.

Most of the songs on the album are a reflection of how grateful Ato is to God. The songs are mixture of praises, worship, R&B and ragga beats.

For instance, the translation of one of the tracks, 'Ayeyi Nwom', which is a praise song, goes like this "I will sing praises unto the Lord for what he has done for me. When I remember what the Lord has done for me, I sing with all my heart to praise and thank him".

Another comforting worship song 'It shall be well' admonishes whatever one is going through now, should not despair but believe and trust in the Lord for He is able to do far more exceedingly and abundantly than we can perceive. Part of the song say: "Whatever you need from God, whatever the Lord has said about you it shall be well in thy ways".

Other songs on the album are 'Meka Nea Waye', 'Meda Woase', 'Enye Menko', 'Mebisa Dee', 'Yesu Gye Me', 'Dware Me' and 'Awurade Kasa'.

Ato said he developed the talent of singing as a young boy because his father, Kojo Krampah used to sing with a traditional group and was a trumpeter as well.

He recalled that he became friends with Felix Owusu and Doris Koto, who advised him to develop his talent in singing.

Ato later formed a dancing group which performed at various places during occasions.

After recording his demo, he did not get any producer, so Ato said he enrolled at the Word of Faith Bible School in 2000.

"I dropped out due to lack of sponsorship but went back again in 2003 to complete my course", he said.

After this, Ato formed Freedom Fellowship and they organized crusades in various parts of the country, between 2003 and 2004.

Ato says he gets his inspiration from reading the Bible. "I love gospel music and I'm using that to spread the word of God. It is my prayer that the songs will cut across nations", he stressed.

He said he was grateful to all especially Mama Christine, who helped him to fulfill his dream.
