He Calls Himself Chemphe

One of the creative and very promising musicians who is likely to make it on the Ghanaian music scene and hit the road to stardom just with his maiden album is Henry Agyeman Chemphe.

The young and talented gentleman has finally decided to surface on the music scene to bring changes in the industry with his own style of music which he calls Urban life.

Urban life he said is a fusion of Ghanaian music and other attractive cultures of various African music. Chemphe has a unique style and sings out of inspiration based on real life experiences about relationship in various situations and stages.

His silky voice is also well suited for the songs he does. His album, which is titled "No Pampanaa" which he says means No hide and seek game is a compilation of ten songs on the cassette and twelve on the CD which he wrote all by himself.

Other songs on his ten track album are Menka which talks about lovers keeping the secrets in their relationship, a gospel song obehyira yen talks about christians doing the will of God and receiving their rewards.

There are also interesting tracks like Tie masem and M’akoma on the album.The album is yet to be released but his hit song No Pampanaa which he recorded under the production of Flava records is presently receiving lots of airplay.

In No Pampanaa, Chemphe talks about love and marriage, he said if you love somebody, you should let the person know how he/she means to you and also cheerish the person as your loved one and not to play games with the persons heart.

Answering questions on how his music career began, he said he discovered his talent rather early in life in the primary school.

Chemphe grew up at Tema and attended Tema 1st Baptist School and had his secondary education at the Ghana National School and has just completed NIIT.
