Cece Winans Coming To Ghana

Gospel music in recent times has definitely become the most popular and best selling music genre in Ghana. Not a single week passes without a new gospel release. Also, gospel concerts are held every now and then, attracting both local and international artistes.

Come August this year, Ghana will host one such mega gospel show that will attract, among others, an international gospel artiste, Cece Winans. Cece is one of America’s finest gospel musicians who is doing a three-nation African tour, beginning from Ghana.

By courtesy of Royal Tropix Production, Cece will perform live shows with some of the nation’s gospel gurus like the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Amy Newman, Tagoe Sisters, Sampson Annor and Seth Frimpong.

Other artistes are Danny Nettey, Diana Hammond and Tropix. For her two days in Ghana, Cece will perform at the Accra International Conference Centre, and the Christian Action Faith Chapel on the Spintex Road.

She has, among her discography ‘Throne Room’ (2003), ‘Alabaster Box’ (1999), ‘Everlasting’ (1998) and ‘Alone In His Presence’ (1995). In 2001, she won Pop Contemporary Gospel album, Best Pop Contemporary Gospel album in 1996, Best Gospel Vocal Performance / Female and Best Soul Gospel Performance.

Among some of her TV appearances and performances are the ‘The Today Show’, ‘Good Morning American’, ‘CNN Showbiz Today’, ‘CBS / Early Morning Show’, just to mention a few. Cece has toured eighty cities with Kirk Franklin. Some of Cece’s hit songs are ‘Hallelujah Praise’, ‘Anybody Wanna Pray’ and ‘Up Where We Belong’.
