Nana Acheampong Out to Support Education Fund

Ghana?s most prolific music star; Nana Acheampong has released a seven-track album, entitled ?Ye Bima? which literally means to ?contribute your part.?

Acheampong, founder and the leader of the Owoahene Band, churned out the album as his own contribution towards the realisation of the Asantehene?s Education drive and has pledged to donate proceeds from the sales of the cassette to the Otumfuo Education Trust Fund.

The album has six other tracks including Boo me do, Eden Namenka, Atiamaniso, Maame Serwaa, Fire Me and Mewokapa.

Presenting the album to the public, the versatile musician said that he embarked on the project to contribute his own quota towards the education of the masses as it plays an important role in the lives of every nation.

He advised beneficiaries of the fund to avoid such tendencies as teenage pregnancy, drug addiction, laziness and indiscipline, which according to him could ruin their future.

Speaking at the occasion, Acheampeline Adusei Poku, who deputised for the Asante, thanked Nana Acheampong for his concern and assured him that the funds would be put into a good use. He advised other musicians to emulate Nana Acheampong.

In an interview with the P & P, the artiste hinted that he has drawn up a comprehensive programme to launch the fund at Cape Coast, Takoradi, Koforidua, Sunyani, Tamale and finally climax it at Lake Bosomtwe to round off the New Year activities.
