Sammi B To Present Video Awards

Sammi B
Where Ghanaian rhythms and lyrics have failed to pick up awards at top international contests in recent times, our music videos have succeeded in lifting high the flag of the nation.

The music maestro, Kojo Antwi and hiplife originator, Reggie Rockstone have won KORA Awards with the video clips of their songs, ?Medofo Pa? and ?Ah? respectively.

Next week Thursday, March 31, Reggie and three other hot singers, VIP, Tinny and Kwaadee will be among the few nominated artistes from Africa whose music videos will be up for selection and honour at the Channel O Africa Music Video Awards to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Incidentally, another Ghanaian entertainer and radio and TV presenter, Sammi B of Big Brother fame, has been elected to present awards at the august ceremony.

?I hope I get to present an award to one of the Ghanaian nominees; either Reggie, Tinny, VIP or Kwaadee? said Sammi, underlining his desire to see a Ghanaian musician walk away with an award at the event. He called on Ghanaians to log onto the Channel O website and vote massively for the nominees.

Sammi B, who currently works with Joy FM in Accra and presents the popular Channel O entertainment programme, 233 For Ghana, will also sing the finale song with the other Channel O presenters.

Sammi B is currently working on his second season of 233 For Ghana, which will hit DSTV screens very soon. Sammi B has promised lots of exciting new interviews as well as music videos from the hiplife and highlife realm.

While nominations for the Channel O Africa Music Awards (AMVA) are received only via the Channel O website, patrons will be able to vote for their favourites in each AMVA category by calling or sending SMS texts +27(0)83 920 8400.
