Project Fame glory is near

Three Ghanaians-Joseph Osew Sarfo-Adu, Dorcas Yeboah and Joseph Ankrah-have the chance to be selected among the 15 who will go into the MTN Project Fame West Africa Academy for the 12-week extravaganza.


They got the opportunity in Lagos recently where 24 contestants from the sub-region were screened and pared down to 18 for the final showdown scheduled for this Saturday to choose the last 15.


The show will be telecast live on TV3 from 4.00pm. Ghanaian singer, Bibie Brew, will be among the three-person judging panel to choose the last 15.


Contestants who make it from then on will receive training from renowned experts in voice training, choreography, stage performance and more over a period of 12 weeks. One contestant will be dropped each week based on nominations by judges and audience votes until the best is chosen in a grand finale.


The winner of the MTN Project Fame West Africa will receive a new Toyota RAV 4 car, N2.5 million and a recording contract. The 1st runner-up will receive a Toyota Corolla and N2 million. The 2nd runner-up will walk away with a Toyota Yaris and N1.5 million while the 3rd runner-up gets N1 million.


Osew Joseph Sarfo-Adu is a student at the University Of Ghana, Legon. He says his musical influences inlcude Aaron Neville, Paul Young and R.Kelly. His favourite music genre are ballads and reggae.


If he gets into the last 15, he expects the Academy to be fun, exciting and adventurous.


Joseph Ankrah appreciates arts and craft and a little clubbing. On an average day, he learns to play a new song on his guitar. His musical influences inlcude Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige and Kojo Antwi.


Dorcas Yeboah’s favourite singer is Lauryn Hill and she likes Denzel Washington’s acting. She gets irritated by arrogant and dishonest people and feels child abuse is a problem that needs to be dealt with urgently.


Project Fame is a popular international reality programme which has been produced and aired in over 15 countries including Spain, United Kingdom, Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Argentina and South Africa.


The MTN Project Fame West Africa show promises to dazzle audiences across West Africa as the contestants battle it out for stardom.
