Obrafour, Others Slated For 1004 Laughs

The streets of Accra were empty on Friday the 22nd of December as music lovers were at Citi 97.3 fm's Celebration of Hiplife dubbed the Official Christmas Pool Party. From the moment the first promo jingles hit the airwaves this party was bound to be one to be remembered.

When the party started at 10pm as scheduled, there was every indication that the party people, who came from all corners of the Accra, had come to celebrate Hiplife in a grand style. Celebrated hiplife stars including Wutah, Praye, Obour, Tic Tac, Eboo, Akatakyie, Kwabena Kwabena and C-Zar rocked the poolside of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel.

Among the crowd of revelers were the highlife icons Paulina Oduro and Alfred Kari Bannerman of Osibisa. Wutah were at their utmost best when they took the microphones from the MC's and sent the revelers on a high singing and dancing to their songs. It was a sight to see the crowd tug on to their call for the longest party line to dance around the pool.

There was so much to drink that one had a difficulty deciding what to drink. Set up in six different locations were the drink bars. Stocked at these bars was the full range of drinks from Accra Brewery Limited, wines, whisky, liquors and fruit juices. On the menu was an assortment of grills including Chicken, spicy sausages, kebabs amongst others.

Several of the over one thousand merry makers who attended the Celebration of Hiplife described it as the biggest party Accra has seen in a longtime adding that they could not wait for next years' event. The Celebration of Hiplife was sponsored by Stone Strong Lager and Onetouch and organised by Citi 97.3fm.
