"My Girlfriend Loves Sex" , Yaw Sikli

Hip Life artiste Isaac Okai, popularly known as Yaw Siki, has come out with the meaning of his song ‘Wope Dodo’. Siki, whose song is currently a hit on the airwaves, told NEWS-ONE that his song was based on a personal experience.

According to him, the song was inspired by his girlfriend who always demanded more sex anytime they made love, hence the title ‘Wope Dodo.’

“The girl in question was never satisfied when we had sex and kept demanding sex even when I am tired. Here, I want to advise young girls who demand sex from their partners all the time to desist from it since they risk becoming ugly or end up killing their men,” he said.

Siki revealed that the talent to sing had always been part of him but he didn’t have anybody to help him nurture it.

“I am new on the scene but I want to assure Ghanaians the best of me because it’s been long time coming,” he said.

Asked why it took him so long to come out with the song, Siki explained that he did a lot of underground work, the reason his single, ‘Wope Dodo’ made an impact.

A graduate from Trans-African college, Siki prefers to sing than to practise journalism.

Asked if he could survive the test of time considering the crop of musicians on the market, Siki said he believed he had done his homework well and was ready to give his best.

He believed he had been accepted by Ghanaians because of the response he received on a daily basis.

“I get not more than ten calls a day about people telling me how good the song is and other musicians asking me to feature on their song”.

Yaw was inspired by Eminem, Reggie Rockstone, Dr. Dre, Obrafour and Snoop Dogg.

He started battling on the popular Ghanaian ‘Kasahare’ (rap) show hosted by Dr. Duncan on Adom FM after completing Tema Methodist High School and graduating in 2004.

After that, he started releasing several mixtapes from 2006 to 2010 which included songs like ‘Dreams’, ‘Osei me’ and ‘Tantana’, produced by Kill Beatz.

He however came into the limelight when he featured on R2Bees ‘Azonto’ and Sarkodie’s ‘Ye Balli’.

‘Wope Dodo’ and other songs like ‘Mi Lobi’ and ‘Look Sharp’ will be on Siki’s ‘High Technique’ album which will be out in December, 2011.

He has performed on shows like Y FM Rollkoll and Cape Coast Festival and is currently signed on to Street Dreams Entertainment.
