The leadership of the Musicians Union of Ghana has paid a courtesy call to the British Council as part of visits by the new leadership of the Union to its partner organizations.

The meeting discussed the partnership between the Union and the British Council over the years.

The MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour spoke about the support the Union has been enjoying from the British Council.

He recounted the support for the various educational fora organized by the Union as part of Ghana Music Week over the years.

He also mentioned the training programmes the British Council has collaborated with the Union to organize for the industry and the British Council’s 70th Anniversary programme which the Union organized in Tamale two years ago.

Obour also spoke about the upcoming launch of the Ghana Music Week 2016 in the United Kingdom on February 12.

On her part, the deputy Country Director of the British Council Emily Thomas expressed optimism about the British Council’s preparedness to continue backing the Ghana Music Week Festival.

She said the Council will explore the possibility of having a British act participating in the Festival in March and possibility attending the launch in London.

The MUSIGA delegation was led by the Union’s President Bice Osei Kuffour. Other members of the delegation were Bessa Simons, 1st Vice President; Rev Fiifi Khan Agyarkwah, Administrator; Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa, Spokesperson for the President and International Relations Manager and Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, Director of Communications and Special Projects.

Present at the meeting was a schedule officer of the British Council, Christiana Bandoh.
