Kofi Nti Sends Kanawu To Police Over ?8m

After several attempts to retrieve a balance of ?8m from Kanawu failed, Kofi Nti, one of Ghana?s young and popular hiplife artistes has resorted to the police for help.

He is demanding payment from Kanawu, a hiplife duo for featuring on a track on the latter?s debut album titled Serwah.

Kofi Nti of Rakia fame who has featured on a number of tracks from Ofori Amponsah?s Otoolege and Broken Heart albums is very bitter about the behaviour of the duo and does not understand why they are doing that to him.

Talking to Showbiz, Kofi Nti said last year, Kanawu invited him to feature on a track titled Odo Se Oko at a fee of 10million. But due to financial constraints, Kanawu made a part payment of 2million and promised to pay the rest later.

?I asked them to pay the rest of the money in two months time but they failed to give me my money.

I chased them for several weeks but I think they didn?t want to pay so I decided to make it a police case,? he said.

Determined to get his money, Kofi Nti reported the matter to the Koforidua Central Police station where Kanawu was invited. The duo promised to pay the eight million debt in three weeks time.

Meanwhile, Kofi Nti has threatened to take Kanawu to court for redress if they fail to pay the money in the said three weeks.

? I will sue them if they fail to pay the money after that three weeks ,? he added.

Kanawu admitted to Showbiz that they owe Kofi Nti ?8 million but expressed shock ast the behaviour of the latter.

?We are shocked and did not expect anything like that from him? they said. According to them, Kofi Nti was not in the country when the money was ready.

?He had then travelled with Ofori Amponsah and Barosky to the United States and so we used the money for other expenses.
