Kafzo Sings ?Kejetia?

After listening to songs on his latest album, one cannot help but agree with Kafzo when he says that his music is African traditional music. His use of African traditional beats is evident in all the songs on the album which is titled ?Kejetia?.

Known in real life as Alex Kwame Frimpong, Kafzo?s Kejetia happens to be the fifth outing. The album has ten songs on CD and cassette. The songs on the album include ?Afrika?, ?Obaa?, ?Alabata?, ?Akoyima? and ?Krobia?. Others are ?Benjenu?, ?Abodaa?, ?Kejetia? and ?Tofee?.

His name may not be a household one because Kafzo has been based in Cote d?Ivoire where he has thrilled many audiences with his music. It takes just a short while after meeting Kafzo to realize how passionate he is about being an African.

This is no doubt reflects not only in his music but in his appearance as well. He told showbiz that he, for instance, leaves his hair all bushy as a way of maintaining his African identity, ?the feeling of being an African for me is great?, he said.

To his fellow musicians, Kafzo had this to say, ?we are leaving our rhythms for others to take away,? obviously to hiplife artistes he added ?take our own rhythm, add your raps and you will surely make it big?.

Kafzo also believes that live music must be encouraged and urged musicians to play live music. Apart from Cote d?Ivoire, Kafzo has also put up performances in Sun City, South Africa.

He has performed with the likes of Alpha Blondy, Premier Gawu, Betica and Petites Youde.

Kafzo expressed gratitude to Lord Kenya who says encouraged him to come back home, ?He was instrumental in my coming back and we worked together on Kejetia?.

Born at Boinzan in the Western Region, Kafzo comes from Nebehi in the Ashanti region. He is single. Kafzo told showbiz that he is a terrific footballer with most of his contemporaries playing professional football outside the country.

He also loves playing draft and watching traditional African films.

To his fans Kafzo says, ?keep listening to my music because I?m back for good?. He admitted that is difficult to come out traditional music and appealed to producers to encourage musicians when they come out with traditional music.

He believes that ?our own kind of music? which is African traditional music like highlife should be promoted.
