Soccer-Republicans beat Africans 3-1

Great Republicans of Darmang Ahuntem beat Great Africans of Adeiso 3-1 in a friendly soccer match played at Darmang Ahuntem on Sunday. Striker Kwadjo Kpo scored the opener for Republicans in the 17th minute when he beautifully finished off a well-taken corner kick. The only goal for Great Africans was scored by inside left Yaw Adu in the 43rd minute. Left winger Yaw Fitor of Republicans netted twice in the 68th and 89th minutes to bring the scores to 3-1. At Otaose, near Nsawam, local teachers beat their Marfukrom counterparts 1-0 in a special friendly soccer match played Otoase on Sunday. Teacher Kwabena Obuba scored the only goal in the 88th minute.
