Citi FM Mix ?Ol? Skool? With ?Nu Skool?

For the many people who made to the Accra International Conference Centre last Friday, it was worth every bit of their time and money because the Music of Ghanaian Origin (MUGO) show lived up to its billing.

Not only did all the artistes give a good account of themselves but the show itself enjoyed a very smooth run, a big plus to the organizers, Citi FM who did well to bring the old and new schools together for an unforgettable night.

When a renowned group like Osibisa is billed to perform, one cannot expect anything but a brilliant stagecraft.

They kept the audience alive with popular tunes from their repertoire including Fir Will Burn You, Super Fly Man, Music for Gong-gong, Welcome Home, Woyaya, People Say, Patapata, Hosa-hosa-ho, Sunshine Day and Kokrokooo.

What else could one ask for from these oldies who did not allow age to get the better side of them? Teddy Osei, Mac Tontoh, Sol Armarfio, Ralph Bannerman and Greg Brown proved that they are still a force to reckon with and when it comes to real good live band music, one cannot take it from them.

Also on the bill was the Ramblers International Band led by good old Jerry Hanson who thrilled the audience with brilliant performances.

C. K. Man and the Sappers Band were a delight to watch as they dished out popular tunes like Adwoa Yankey, Ma To Aboa, Araba Lucy and others.

Slim Busterr, Castro Destroyer, Mzbel and Kwabena Kwabena all took turns to thrill the audience with impressive performances.

Lord Kenya is a show-stopper, no doubt and his performance last Friday was a warning to those who thought he was down and out. As always, he succeeded in thrilling patrons with his powerful output and superb stagecraft.
