Four face tribunal for murder

Agona (Ashanti), 26 Jan. '98 - Four palm wine tapers of Boanim, in the Afigya/Sekyere District, who were helping the Police in their investigations into the death of a 55-year-old farmer, have appeared before an Agona Community Tribunal charged with murder. The plea of Kofi Baah, Kwaku Addai, Kwame Brobbey and Seidu Osumanu, was not taken and they were remanded in prison custody. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector J. K. Abrefah, told the tribunal that on October 28 last year, the deceased, Mr Kwabena Marfo, went to his farm at Boanim but failed to return home. He said a report was, therefore, made to the chief of the town the following morning. The chief organised a search party which found the dead body buried in an ant-hill near the road between Boanim and Mprim. A report was made to the Police and following investigations, the accused persons were arrested.
