Ahen Mu Hen outdoored

Christmas is approaching and people from all walks of life, including musicians are preparing towards the festive season.

Most musical groups are rehearsing for live band performances while others are contemplating what to do to tickle their fans. Some are also launching new albums for people to celebrate Christmas with.

One of such people is promising gospel musician Danny Darko. On Saturday December 1, Danny released his 8-track debut album, “Ahen Mu Hen”, which can best be described as an X’mas gift for Christians.

The praise and worship songs, which were sang with zest, include “Ndaase”, “Nim Die”, “Do ben ni”, “Bue me”, “Twe ben no” and title track “Ahen Mu Hen” among others.

At the launching, at the Action Chapel off Spintex road in Accra, Danny said the album was aimed at helping widows.

The Akwapim singer told Beatwaves that he gets the inspiration to write songs when he thinks deeply about life and other people he observes.

According to him, his musical talent started showing at the age of seven when he was living with his grandfather, who was the Reverend Minister and head of the choir in the Methodist Church. Later he joined the Presbyterian Church, where he became the youth choir director at the age of 15. His passion for music grew with a desire to do charismatic songs.

He then started worshipping with the Ashaiman Number 2 branch of Action Chapel, where he was also the choir director. Having gone through the singing mill for such a long time, Danny said he wanted to minister to everyone.

The album was put together by the help of Rev. James Ofori, the area head of his church, with the sound engineering done by Jeffrey Churchill.

The launching ceremony witnessed performances from guest artistes Kwasi Oteng and Justice Owen, winner of Stars of the Future reality show.
