500 Register For ?Pop Star? Auditioning

As at last week Saturday, over 500 young men and women with various musical talents applied to be auditioned to participate in the Pop Stars Talent Hunt project being undertaken, as a collaboration effort between Spectator, Metro TV, Channel R and Bibini Productions.

The ambitious musicians have congregated in Accra from Tema, Tamale, Takoradi, Kumasi and HO among others.

So far, 280 have submitted their forms and 80 were auditioned at the Napoleon Club Studios at Osu in Accra.

This morning, some of those auditioned will feature on Metro TV Morning Show to do an Accapella each for one minute.

A confident Mr. Faisal Helwani, the producer on the project, told Spectator Arts that the best artistes in the system today everybody is hearing on radio, are actually not the best in the system.

“The best are yet to be discovered”, he said.

He said, apart from the talent hunt project underway, the studio does film sound tracks for film producers, jingles for adverts and writes lyrics for advert purposes.

He was disappointed that out of the 500 youths who came to be auditioned, only about 10% were females.

He urged the ladies not to sit on the fence but to take advantage of the opportunity.

Mr. Helwani added that Metro TV was seeking very powerful sponsors to support the programme.
