'Osofo Apae Pentua' A Hot Release

He is still struggling to come to terms with the number of phone calls he received last weekend in twenty minutes.

To him this has never happened before and so he kept asking himself if the world's wealthiest businessman or woman could receive such a number of phone calls in such a short period.

Joseph Avuglah, a.k.a. Joe Cedi, the new hiplife whizkid received over 50 phone calls last weekend when his cell phone number was announced by a disc jockey (DJ) on radio station in Accra.

Titled 'Osofo Apae Pentua', Joe Cedi referred to the song, as teaser and that he would formally come out with his 8 track album in due course. The single track featured some other aspiring hiplife kingpins like Mad doggy, Lazy Dazy, 2 Tee, Nero and King Forgy all from the came of Efo Drum Entertainment.

The new song is already generating a lot of interest in the various night clubs and entertainment joints across the country. It is, therefore, no wonder that Joe Cedi was bombarded with lots of phone calls.

The song which could overwhelm some of the top personalities in the hiplife music industry comes with a very stirring rhythm which can not be avoided by listeners. The rhythms is derived from local and African beats like Adowa and Kpanlogo as well as highlife. He said the song was based on a true story and explained that he used to hangout with a friend whose senior brother is a pastor.

Anytime the pastor came home, he bumped into the young men either gambling with playing cards or indulging in acts which he the pastor saw as ungodly or against the norms of society.

One day, the infuriated pastor in an attempt to stop the men pulled a bottle, broke it and chased them out of the house. Joe Cedi in the song advised Pastor and other religious leaders to exercise restraint and go by the teachings of the good books when dealing with issues of juvenile delinquencies and other social vices. "The best way to go about this is to sit the person down and offer some advice", he said.

Listeners would not be disappointed when they hear the song. Mind you, it is not the kind of usual praises and worship songs that are sang in churches, but music lover must just await out for the best of hiplife songs in recent time.

Born 29 years at Bubiashie in the Greater Accra Region, Joe Cedi started school at the Happy Home Academy also at Bubiashie.

He proceeded to the Kansehie Bishop Boys JSS and then gained admission to the Cape Coast Technical Institution (CAPE TECH) where he read electrical engineering. He also undertook courses in computer programming and networking.

Even though Joe enjoyed rap music and performed during school functions, he did not have plans of joining the bandwagon. He said he however motivated by the trail blazer instincts of Reggie Rockstone which inspired him to start doing something.

The shy looking Joe Cedi also did not mince words as he paid tribute to Reggie Rockstone for taking hiplife this far.

He said he was the fourth of five siblings made up of three sisters and two boys. Currently a member of the Efo Drum Entertainment Group based in Bubuashie, Joe Cedi said the group is determined to make it bigger in the music circles by coming out with nothing but the best of albums.
