The power outages in Kufour to Mahama time which worsened by 2014 were due to shortage of hydro power as water level in the Akosombo dam dwindled. Mahama sorted the sole hydro power source by the purchase of the Ameri and other alternative power plants. All these have to be paid for from the electricity produced and consumed, the plants have to be serviced and the staff paid salaries. Where do you think ECG will get the money from to pay for these if no one pays their electricity bills? All govt. department heads must ensure the electricity they consume are paid for!
