Ernestina Serwaa Asante is not just a multimedia journalist with GhanaWeb, one of Ghana's most esteemed media houses but also an explorer and an entrepreneur.
She doubles as the host of BizTech and BizHeadlines on GhanaWeb TV, bringing the latest in business and technology to viewers across the nation and beyond.
Born on March 9, 1995, in Accra, Ghana, Ernestina's journey of knowledge began at Oti Boateng Senior High School, formerly Koforidua Senior High School, culminating in her graduation in 2013.
Her academic pursuits didn't stop there; in 2018, she obtained a B.A in Communication Studies, majoring in Journalism, from the prestigious Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She is currently pursuing an MBA in Corporate Communications at the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
Early Career:
Ernestina's foray into the world of journalism commenced with an internship at the Ghana News Agency from July 2017 to March 2018, a period during which she balanced her responsibilities with her undergraduate studies.
Her dedication to the journalism job led her to GhanaWeb, where she served as a National Service Personnel in 2018.
Career Growth:
Post-national service, Ernestina's flair for business journalism secured her a permanent role at GhanaWeb. She also hosts BizTech and BizHeadlines on GhanaWeb TV.
Achievements:
Ernestina's prowess in journalism has not gone unnoticed.
From July 4-8, 2022, She was among 25 journalists chosen by ECOWAS-GIZ for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) workshop in Lagos, Nigeria, from July 4 – 8, 2022.
Her commitment to excellence was further honed through a digital content production and promotion course with the BBC from July 21-22, 2022, after which she received a certificate of completion.
On August 8, 2022, she expanded her expertise by participating in a masterclass for trade journalists on AfCFTA. Ernestina partook in the AfCFTA Business Forum held in Capetown, South Africa on April 16-19, 2023.
In July 2023, she participated in a trade short course in Capetown, South Africa and on October 31, 2023, Ernestina was the only Ghanaian business journalist selected to partake in AGOA Webinar.
Ernestina Serwaa Asante has also attained higher feats at the workplace as she was adjudged the Team Mate of the Month; February 2021 and October 2023.
