On May 30th, 2014, members of the Nima Association of New York and other members of the Ghanaian community gathered at an Inauguration/swearing in ceremony. Alhassan Mohammed aka Tanko Ajah and Abdul Fatawu Salifu - aka Whitaker were sworn in as President and Vice President respectively. The event occurred at the Sanbra Hall, Bronx, NY. Among the noted personalities in attendance were; Alhaji Bala Briamah(Sarkin Zongo), Alhaji Mallam Salley Mohammed and Imam Baba Gambo. The programme started with an open prayer by Imam Kabiru. The Chairman of the occasion was Alhaji Abu Na-Aatao who was introduced by Abdul Rahman Musah. The History of the Association was presented by Hajj Abu Na-Aata. Hajia Rabi Gausu also gave a brief remark on behalf of the Women’s Wing. The swearing ceremony of the President was conducted by Imam Baba Gambo and Mallam Salley also conducted that of the Vice President. Alhaji Alhassan Mohammed, the President and the VP, Salifu later introduced and swore in the new executives of the Association.
