Alassane Ouattara, Cote D'Ivoire President said "Today is a historic moment for the Ivorian people, today is the beginning of an area which marks our will to write a new page in the history books of our country."
Alassane Ouattara won the Cote d'Ivoire presidential polls six months ago, but was only inaugurated as president on Sunday, after a bitter and bloody standoff with the former president, Laurent Gbagbo, in which 3000 people were killed as the two men struggled for power.
