Praying …Pastor Michael Mensah prayed for the executives and the success of the function
August 5 2008,Columbus Ohio:-The Brong-Ahafo Association of Columbus Ohio was inaugurated on July .12 th 2008 at the 1048 Morse Road, Columbus Ohio.The event took place amidst pomp and pageantry.
The chairman of the occasion was Mr. Kwasi Amponsah-Yeboah, elder of the Brong-Ahafo Association of Chicago and Moderator of the Ghana National Council of Chicago. Also in attendance to grace the inauguration were Chiefs, Queens and members of Brong-Ahafo Associations from Baltimore ,Canada, Chicago,Denver,Maryland,New Jersey ,New York,Virginia and Washington State.
In his key not speech, the chairman, Mr. Kwasi Amponsah-Yeboah congratulated members of the Brong -Ahafo Association of Columbus, especially the chairman, Charles Osei Kwabena for coming together and make the formation of the association a reality.
He continued by asking citizens of Brong-Ahafo in Columbus to join the new Association by saying "If you are from the Brong-Ahafo Region and you are not a member of this association, the time to join hands with your colleagues is now. Become a member not only to secure the future of your noble goals but to preserve the unity of your community."
Mr. Yeboah concluded by stating that "Down the road the burden of organizing this new association may become the sole responsibility of a few members. I humbly request that each one of you contribute his or her quota to make this association a show case.Be a proud son and daughter of our region, situated in the mid-section of Ghana which has been one of the economic back bones of Ghana with its massive production of cocoa and food to feed our people."
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Brong-Ahafo Association of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Charles Osei Kwabena also known as Nana Odeneho urged Ghanaians to unite and help build a strong Nation. Nana Odeneho informed the gathering that funds realized from the inauguration will be used to support the most needy students of the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana.He expressed his utmost gratitude to the sister Brong-Ahafo Associations who attended the inauguration and asked that an umbrella Association of all Brong Ahafo Associations in North America be formed to help in the development of Brong-Ahafo Region and Ghana in general. In conclusion, Nana Odeneho advised Ghanaians from other regions of Ghana to unite and help develop our dear country.
