NCOGA in collaboration with the AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL INC, as well as THE BRONX MUSEUM OF ARTS, supported by CITY COUNCIL MEMBER; HELEN FOSTER, continue to have successful Golden Jubilee events, and this time it was the Africa Film Festival. The reception happened on Friday, April 20th at The Bronx Museum of the Arts. It was well attended and the noted personalities present included; State Senator Jeff Klein, Helen Foster, The NYC Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs; Guillermo Linares and a representative from the State Department Cultural Affairs Division. There was a screening of the classic; "Love Brewed In The African Pot" by Kwaw Ansah. Even though, the movie director/Screenplay Writer; Kwaw Ansah could not make it, Dr. Kwame Akonor of Seton Hall University filled in quite well during the Q & A on Saturday, April 21st, 2007. Marc Percavez, the Co-director of "Bul Deconne", who was present with some of his supporting crew members also added a new dimension to the Festival. Moreoever, the Festival moves to Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) from FRIDAY MAY 25, TO MONDAY MAY 28, 2007. Please visit www.africanfilmny.org for more details.
