On December 30th December 2006 at the Casablanca Room at Marietta Georgia USA, a 19 year Marketing and Public Relations second year student of the Oglethorpe University in Georgia was crowned the Miss Ghana Georgia 2006 ( Obaapa 2006 ). Miss Jewel Thompson is the daugther of Madam Grace Thompson who hails from Akyem Manso in the Akyem Oda district in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Miss Esther Amprofi was also crowned the first runner up and the second runner up was; Miss Stephanie Aidoo. In attendance was Miss Zambia Georgia 2006 who crowned the Obaapa and was helped by Miss Aurora 2006 and Miss Nigeria Georgia 2006. The huge sucessful pageant was organised by the AHINFIE EVENTS and sponsored by the african Mini Mart of Georgia, Precise Steps Co. Ltd. of Ghana, Gold Star Herald of Georgia, Bougers Auto of GEorgia, Abraham Morgage of Georgia, Western Union and Moneygram.
