Abanga Fuseini Yakubu elected NPP National Youth Organiser

Abanga Fuseini Yakubu has been elected National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after securing a decisive victory in the party’s national elections. Abanga Fuseini polled 1,550 votes to defeat five other aspirants who contested the position at the NPP National Delegates Conference. His closest challenger was Clement Opoku Gyamfi, who secured 631 votes. The other candidates recorded the following results: Alfred Kumi Ababio polled 25 votes, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi secured 44 votes, Michael Osei Boateng obtained 78 votes, while Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, polled 46 votes. The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to elect a new set of national executives to lead the party as it reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections. More than 7,000 delegates from across the country participated in the election as the party seeks to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). The election was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Delivering a speech on behalf of all the elected executives, the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu, called on members of the party to unite and work together to recapture political power in the upcoming elections.
