BoG's Matilda Asante-Asiedu pays homage to newly enstooled Asantehemaa
Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has joined a delegation of senior female government officials to pay a courtesy visit to the newly enstooled Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The delegation, led by Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, visited the Asantehemaa on Monday, September 14, 2026, to congratulate her on her enstoolment as the 15th Asantehemaa of Asanteman.
The visit brought together prominent women in public service who paid homage to Nana Yaa Akyaa II and expressed their support for her new role.

Reports from the Manhyia Palace indicate that the officials also sought the Asantehemaa’s wisdom and guidance on matters affecting women and the country.
In a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeb Business on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Matilda Asante-Asiedu described the visit as an honour and said the Asantehemaa’s ascension was significant for women in leadership.
“It was an honour to join distinguished women serving our nation, led by Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, in paying a visit to Manhyia Palace to congratulate Her Majesty Nana Yaa Akyaa II on her enstoolment as the 15th Asantehemaa of Asanteman,” she wrote.
She said the Asantehemaa’s ascension was a reminder of the important role women continue to play in leadership, tradition and national development.
“Her ascension is a powerful reminder of the enduring place of women in leadership, tradition and nation-building,” Matilda Asante-Asiedu added.
The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana also wished the Asantehemaa a successful reign, expressing hope that her leadership would promote unity and have a lasting impact on future generations.
“May her reign be marked by wisdom, unity and a lasting impact on generations to come,” she said.
Nana Yaa Akyaa II was enstooled on July 6, 2026, as the 15th Asantehemaa and subsequently sat in state at the Manhyia Palace to receive homage from traditional authorities, members of the public and other groups.
