A tragic traffic collision at Adansi Dompoase, near the new Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) building, claimed six lives, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
According to a statement released by the Ashanti Region Public Relations Office, the GNFS received a distress call at 12:43 pm and quickly despatched a rescue team to the location.
The rescue operation, commanded by ADOII Samuel Mensah, discovered a VIP bus (number GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (registered GS 6383-20) involved in the crash.
According to the GNFS, the Sprinter was entirely shredded from the back, while the VIP bus was partially damaged in the front.
The statement claimed that rescue operations were concluded by 1:28 p.m., with six deceased victims turned over to police. One injured person was taken to Fomena Government Hospital for emergency care.
The GNFS added that the reason of the accident is still being investigated.

Firefighters, commanded by ADO II Samuel Mensah, arrived on the scene and discovered a VIP bus (GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (GS 6383-20) engaged in an accident. The Sprinter was entirely demolished from the rear, while the VIP bus was partially damaged on the front.
Rescue operations were concluded at 1328hrs, with six lifeless bodies turned over to the police. One injured person was transported to Fomena Government Hospital for emergency treatment. The cause of the occurrence is still under investigation.
