A young man narrowly escaped death after nearly drowning at Titanic Beach in Sakumono, saved by the swift and courageous actions of a group of teenage boys nearby.

The harrowing incident happened on Tuesday afternoon as visitors enjoyed the sunny skies and refreshing ocean breeze. The victim, thought to be in his early twenties, was swimming when powerful currents dragged him into deeper waters.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man fought desperately to stay afloat, waving his arms and screaming for help. While many bystanders froze in panic, unsure how to help without endangering themselves, a group of quick-thinking teenagers—aged between 15 and 18—stepped in without hesitation.

Two of the boys immediately dove into the water while others coordinated from the shore. Their bravery and teamwork proved crucial.

"We saw him sinking and knew he was in danger," said 17-year-old Emmanuel Tetteh, who spearheaded the rescue. "I couldn’t just stand there. I told my friend, and we swam out to get him."

The teens reached the struggling man and guided him back to shore, where others helped pull him to safety. A nurse who happened to be at the beach administered first aid as the shaken survivor caught his breath.

"I truly believed I was going to die," the rescued man later admitted. "Those boys are my heroes—I owe them my life."

The near-tragedy has renewed concerns over the absence of safety measures at Titanic Beach. No lifeguards were present during the incident, prompting calls for better supervision and warning signs.

"Without those brave boys, this would have been a disaster," remarked a frequent beachgoer. "This place needs professional lifeguards—now."

While authorities have yet to comment, the teenagers’ heroic actions have earned widespread admiration.
