The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and Muslim community members were cordially received by former President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency for a special Iftar, the holy evening meal that breaks the Ramadan fast. The event, which was hosted in a spirit of solidarity and introspection, reaffirmed Mahama's dedication to promoting religious tolerance and harmony in Ghana.

Speaking during the function, Mahama underlined the significance of Ramadan as a time of sacrifice and spiritual rejuvenation and conveyed his profound gratitude for the contribution of the Muslim community to the advancement of the country. We are reminded of the importance of self-control, compassion, and service to others throughout Ramadan. Sharing this holy occasion with our Muslim brothers and sisters is always an honor," he remarked.

Prayers for national unity, stability, and prosperity were offered by Sheikh Sharubutu, the Chief Imam, who is highly regarded for his efforts to promote peace. He thanked Mahama for his tolerance for religious pluralism and his ongoing involvement with the Muslim community. Our ties as a country are strengthened by gatherings like these. "Regardless of faith or background, we pray for peace and progress for all Ghanaians," said the Chief Imam.

Political dignitaries, Islamic academics, community leaders, and youth representatives all shared the Iftar meal, which featured a range of traditional and nourishing cuisine. The occasion offered a forum for discussion on topics impacting the Muslim community, such as social welfare, economic development, and education.

During the event, Mahama also reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive governance and pledged to continue prioritizing policies that benefit underprivileged areas. Development needs to be equitable and comprehensive. Regardless of religion or race, we have to make sure that all Ghanaians have access to opportunities that would help them live better lives," he said.

The former president has a long history of embracing religious diversity, which includes his interactions with the Muslim community. Mahama gained the respect of Muslim leaders by starting a number of initiatives to promote Islamic infrastructure and education when he was in power.

The importance of these events goes beyond religious observance as the nation gets ready for another election season, reaffirming Mahama's call for harmony and collaboration among all religious communities. Numerous guests conveyed their appreciation for the gesture, seeing it as an example of genuine leadership and inclusivity.

Special prayers for Ghana's peace and progress, as well as for the welfare of all leaders and residents, were said as the event came to a close. Mahama's outreach to the Muslim community during Ramadan underscores the wider significance of interfaith discourse in bolstering national unity.
