The Special Prosecutor's Office has arrested Paul Adom-Otchere, ex-Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) board, along with two other individuals.
Adom-Otchere, a well-known Ghanaian broadcaster, and his associates—Otchere Kwame Baffour Awuah (Group Executive, Commercial Services, GACL) and Albert Adjetey Adjei-Laryea (CEO of Devnest Systems)—were taken into custody after responding to an OSP summons.
In a social media update, the OSP stated that the trio was interrogated regarding potential procurement violations in a revenue assurance agreement involving GACL and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
The post, dated July 31, 2025, explained: “Mr. Adom-Otchere is being investigated for his role in a contract between GACL and a private company linked to SML’s owner. The OSP is reviewing suspected procurement irregularities, including a sole-sourced contract awarded to an unapproved firm.”
The OSP confirmed that all three men have been formally charged but remain in detention after failing to satisfy their bail terms.
“While the OSP has charged Adom-Otchere and the two others, he has been unable to meet his bail requirement—submitting two landed properties registered in his name. He claims not to own any such assets in Ghana, leading to his continued detention.
