Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist and radio host Evangelist Diana Asamoah is mourning the loss of her mother, Madam Mary Agyei Nnuro, affectionately known as Akosua Barima. The sad news was announced by the singer on her TikTok platform.

Reports indicate that Madam Mary Agyei Nnuro died at 80. In keeping with tradition, her one-week memorial will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2025, in Kwabre Kasaam, Ashanti Region.

Diana Asamoah mentioned that further funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. Following the announcement, fans and sympathizers have flooded social media with condolences, offering prayers and encouragement to the bereaved gospel star.

Beyond her music, Diana Asamoah has recently made headlines as a co-host on Angel FM’s Akoko Abon program, where she fearlessly discusses Christian teachings and critiques religious figures. Her bold remarks about Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, founder of Believers Worship Center, have stirred controversy, even reportedly leading to threats.

Despite her public profile, little is known about Diana’s family. In 2011, speculation about a strained relationship with her parents arose, but she later dispelled the rumors by inviting them onstage during a church event.

As Ghanaians stand with her in grief, many are reflecting on Diana Asamoah’s unwavering courage in her faith and career. May Madam Mary Agyei Nnuro’s soul rest in eternal peace.
