The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has directed former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to appear in person at its headquarters on Monday, June 2, 2025, saying that failing to do so will result in severe repercussions.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 1, the OSP warned that if Mr. Ofori-Atta fails to obey the summons, he will be reinstated on its wanted list and officially proclaimed a fugitive from justice.
The office also stated that it will begin procedures to issue an INTERPOL Red Notice, potentially subjecting the former minister to international arrest and extradition.
This directive is part of the continuing investigation into alleged corruption and misuse of office. Mr. Ofori-Atta was previously removed off the OSP's wanted list after what authorities described as "significant cooperation." However, as the June 2 deadline near, that conclusion is no longer certain.
