The Suhum Municipal Fire Service responded to a serious single-vehicle accident on Monday morning. Despite a swift and professional rescue operation, the incident tragically resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
Incident Timeline & Response
0943 Hrs: Emergency call received.
1015 Hrs: A seven-person GNFS crew, led by ASTNO Kissiedu, arrived on scene at Owura Twum, off the Kibi-Suhum Road.
1128 Hrs: Crew cleared the scene and restored traffic flow after completing operations.
On-Scene Details
Responders encountered an overturned Opel Vectra saloon car (GT 8521-N) that had left the road and landed in nearby bush. Preliminary eyewitness reports suggest a rear tyre burst caused the driver to lose control, leading the vehicle to somersault.
Rescue & Medical Operations
The GNFS team immediately commenced extraction and triage:
One (1) deceased female casualty was retrieved from the wreckage.
Three (3) injured victims (one male, two females) were assisted and transported to Kibi Government Hospital for urgent medical care.

Aftermath & Investigation

The body of the deceased was formally handed over to Police personnel at the scene for preservation and to facilitate the standard investigation into the crash. The vehicle sustained partial damage.
Total Casualties: 4 (1 male, 3 females), with 1 female fatality.
