Malik Basintale, the Acting CEO of the Youth Employment Agency and Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reacted to a stern warning from media personality and NPP member Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah. Afrifa-Mensah, during his show For the Records, cautioned Basintale against what he called misconduct, warning that he would regret his actions if political power shifts.
While recognizing Basintale’s rising prominence in the NDC, Afrifa-Mensah accused him of acting recklessly. “You’re a young man—stop behaving foolishly,” he said. “If power changes hands, you’ll deeply regret it. Just because you’re in power now doesn’t mean you own the world.”
In response, Basintale, speaking in Dagomba during a media interview posted on X, dismissed the threat. He referenced a local saying that a true and proud Dagomba man doesn’t take his grievances to court or the police but settles them directly. He added, With Allah’s will, when the time comes, all will be well.
Known for mobilizing large groups of NDC youth—often hundreds on motorcycles—for campaign activities, Basintale frequently boasts about his nationwide “youth army” that executes party operations. Recently, he led a massive bike rally in Ablekuma North ahead of the July 11, 2025, parliamentary rerun.
