Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lilwin, has confidently stated that he stands unmatched in the Kumawood movie industry.
The award-winning star shared these remarks in an exclusive interview with Papa Jay of Poleeno Multimedia. Lilwin admitted that his reduced acting output in recent years is partly due to the absence of strong competitors in Kumawood.
Unlike Ghana’s vibrant music scene—where artists such as Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy push each other to excel—Lilwin believes the movie industry lacks that same competitive energy, which has dampened his motivation to strive harder.
His comments come as he intensifies promotions for his upcoming film, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero, scheduled to premiere on August 2, 2025, at the SG Mall in Kumasi.
The movie, a tribute to Burkina Faso’s revolutionary leader Ibrahim Traoré, is poised to make waves both in Ghana and beyond.
Lilwin has been actively promoting the project in multiple media interviews, disclosing that production costs exceeded $500,000.
With a star-studded cast and growing anticipation, fans and industry insiders are eager to witness the latest creation from the self-proclaimed King of Kumawood.
