Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, one of the eight victims of a military helicopter crash while traveling from Accra to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, had recently been awarded his flying wing badge. The tragic incident happened on Wednesday, August 6, as the crew was en route to attend the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP).
According to Myjoyonline.com, the late pilot was among 12 newly trained aviators who received their Aviator Wings or Air Crew Badges from former President Nana Akufo-Addo on November 29, 2024. The honored pilots, having completed their required training, included:
