Accra, Ghana - There is widespread relief across the Ga State and beyond following news that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, is in stable condition after being involved in a road accident in the early hours of Thursday, 19 February 2026. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga in the Oti Region while the monarch was returning to Accra .

According to palace sources, the Ga Mantse had traveled to Tamale in the Northern Region on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa, the Overlord of the Dagbon traditional area. It was on his return journey to Accra that the vehicle conveying the King was involved in a crash.
