GCB Bank has reported a tragic accident involving one of its armored cash-transport vehicles. The incident occurred in Adanwomase, located in the Kwabre East Municipality of Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

In a statement released on Friday, July 11, 2025, the bank confirmed that three individuals lost their lives in the crash, while another person sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

The bank expressed profound sorrow over the incident and offered condolences to the bereaved families. “During this challenging period, our primary focus is supporting the families of the deceased and the injured,” the statement read. Out of respect for the affected individuals, the bank refrained from disclosing further details at this time.

GCB Bank emphasized its collaboration with the Ghana Police Service and relevant agencies to determine the cause of the accident. Investigations have already begun, and updates will be shared as appropriate.

The bank urged the media and the public to respect the privacy of the grieving families, concluding, “Our deepest sympathies are with them.”

The news has sparked widespread concern, as armored vehicles are typically associated with high-security operations. The exact cause of the accident and the identities of the victims remain undisclosed.

GCB Bank’s Corporate Affairs Department assured the public that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness, and further details will be communicated in due course. Authorities have called for calm as the investigation progresses.
