Four people were killed in a violent clash between Wiamoase and Ntonso youths in the Ashanti region.

A tragic battle between the youth of Wiamoase and Ntonso in the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of four persons, all from Ntonso. The incident happened after a misunderstanding between the two groups turned into a violent altercation.

The conflict began when Ntonso youngsters attended a funeral in Wiamoase, when a disagreement erupted between the two groups. The situation immediately became out of control, with both sides engaging in a furious battle. Two ladies were shot during the altercation, inciting the Wiamoase youth to arm themselves with machetes and assault the Ntonso group. ¹

The origin of the dispute is yet unknown, but authorities are looking into the event. The town is in shock, and tensions are high. This terrible occurrence emphasizes the necessity for greater monitoring and conflict settlement initiatives in the region.

In 2021, a similar confrontation happened between Ntonso and Aboaso youngsters, resulting in multiple injuries and property damage. The event began as a quarrel about a drinking establishment that was open after hours. Three individuals were apprehended and held in police custody.

The recent battle between Wiamoase and Ntonso youngsters serves as a sharp reminder of the devastation caused by unbridled violence, as well as the need of encouraging peaceful dispute resolution. As the inquiry continues, the community banded together to grieve the loss of life and move toward healing and reconstruction.
