A tragic head-on collision between a Yutong bus and a tipper truck killed at least four persons and injured several more in Assin Bresiako, Assin North District of the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Monday and included a Yutong bus with registration number GT 5136-11 driving from Cape Coast to Kumasi and a tipper truck with registration number BA 2267-14 traveling in the opposite way from Kumasi to Assin Fosu.

According to eyewitnesses, the Yutong bus strayed off its lane while attempting to overtake, colliding head-on with the oncoming tipper truck.

According to reports, the bus's steering wheel stuck during the manoeuvre, resulting in the fatal disaster.

While authorities have yet to produce an official report, eyewitnesses stated that four passengers died instantaneously, while many more were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Elisha Sarpong, Assemblyman for the Assin Bresiako Electoral Area, confirmed the incident to Adom News, claiming that the bus was on its way to Kumasi after loading from Cape Coast when it crashed.



He also stated that the bus mate mentioned the steering locking when overtaking, which caused the crash. Unfortunately, one of the drivers passed away.
