A devastating accident occurred on Monday afternoon along the Winneba-Apam highway in Natwibuw, Central Region, leaving three students and a taxi driver dead.

The students, pupils of Uncle Rich and St. Paul Basic Schools, were on their way home around 4 p.m. when a Toyota Rav4 (GN 5507-18) allegedly tried to overtake improperly and collided head-on with their taxi (CR 748-20).

According to witnesses, the taxi driver died on impact, while one student was declared dead at the scene. Two others later passed away at Winneba’s Trauma and Specialist Hospital, raising the total fatalities to four.
