A young construction worker died in a tragic accident after being crushed by a road compactor at a worksite in Ashaiman.

The fatal incident happened along the Traffic–Main Station road, where repair work is currently underway.

Eyewitnesses reported that the worker had stepped away for a break and was sitting under a stationary compactor, possibly to escape the sun. Wearing headphones, he didn’t notice when the driver started the machine and began moving it. Unaware that the worker was beneath the vehicle, the driver accidentally ran him over.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim did not survive his injuries.

The shocking incident has deeply affected the local community and sparked renewed concerns over poor safety protocols at construction sites.
