According to the latest Ghana National Fire Service report, a fire explosion occurred in Bogobiri in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region, killing one person and injuring three others.
This sad tragedy resulted from welding activities at a nearby garage. This unfortunate tragedy occurred on Friday afternoon.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded immediately, deploying personnel to the location to control the fire. Their efforts to stabilize the situation continue.
In a Facebook statement, the GNFS recommended residents and motorists to avoid the impacted region for their own safety and to consider other routes.
The GNFS told the public that they were committed to managing the situation efficiently.
"Be certain that our devoted firefighters will put the situation under control. "Further updates will be provided shortly," the message said.
This comes just a few months after a similar explosion occurred in Kasoa, in the Central area, killing many market women.
Fire explosions like this highlight the significance of safety precautions during high-risk activities like welding.
It is also worth noting that a similar incident occurred in Gbawe, where firefighters prevented a gas tanker explosion following an accident. Recent fire accidents have sparked discussions on the internet, particularly during the harmattan season.
Residents in the Obuasi Municipality are asked to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity that could endanger public safety. The Ghana Fire Service and Police are currently conducting investigations into the incident. All injured individuals have been sent to a hospital for treatment.
