RTP Awards 2025: Bernard Avle, Captain Smart, Serwaa Amihere, Kwadwo Sheldon among nominees

Organisers of the 15th GoldBOND Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards have officially released the full list of nominees for the 2025 edition, celebrating excellence across Ghana’s radio, television and digital media landscape.

Leading the headline category, RTP Personality of the Year 2025, are some of the country’s most influential broadcast figures, including Kwame Nkrumah Tikese (Okay FM), Captain Smart (Onua TV), Saddick Adams (Angel FM), Bernard Avle (Citi FM), Alfred Ocansey (TV3), Evans Mensah (Joy FM), Serwaa Amihere (GHOne TV) and Samson Lardy Anyenini (Joy News).

The awards scheme has also placed strong emphasis on digital media, with competitive categories recognising social media and content creators. Nominees for Social Media Influencer of the Year 2025 include Sika Official, SDK Dele, Kwadwo Sheldon, Princess Burland, Afronitaaa, Endurance Grand, Asantewaa, Fella Makafui, Dulcie Boateng, Chef Abbys, Wesley Kesse and ChampionRolie.

In platform-specific categories, Asantewaa, Princess Burland, Cookie Tee, SDK Dele, Fella Makafui, Serwaa Amihere and Lydia Forson earned nominations in the Instagram Influencer of the Year category, while Endurance Grand, Chef Abbys, Ohemaa Ellen and Nomad Williams feature prominently in the TikTok Influencer of the Year race.

For YouTube Influencer of the Year, top nominees include Wode Maya, Kwadwo Sheldon, Princess Burland, SDK Dele, Sweet Adjetey and Official Starter.

In the traditional media categories, Multimedia Group, Despite Media Group, Media General, EIB Network and Citi FM/Channel One TV (Omni Media) are vying for Media Group of the Year. TV3, UTV, Adom TV, Joy News and GHOne TV are among the nominees for TV Station of the Year.

Popular programmes such as Ghana Tonight, New Day, News File, United Showbiz and Adekyɛ Nsroma have been shortlisted for TV Program of the Year, while Date Rush, Ghana’s Most Beautiful and Talented Kidz are competing in the TV Reality Show of the Year category.

The radio segment features stiff competition, with Peace FM, Citi FM, Okay FM, Joy FM and Hitz FM nominated for Radio Station of the Year. Renowned broadcasters such as Bernard Avle, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Saddick Adams, Nana Yaa Brefo and Johnnie Hughes dominate various radio host categories across regions.

Meanwhile, the RTP Hall of Fame (2nd Edition) will honour distinguished media personalities Oheneyere Gifty Anti, Dr Randy Abbey, Doreen Andoh, Stacy Amoateng, Rev Azigiza and Kwesi Pratt Jnr. for their outstanding contributions to Ghana’s media industry.

The 15th GoldBOND RTP Awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The event will feature a red carpet session at 7pm, followed by the main awards ceremony from 9pm to 1am, and will be held under a black-tie dress code.
