Ghanaian musician Shatana has stirred meaningful conversation online after posting a heartfelt message about self-worth and body confidence.
In a post sighted by Virgin Blogger on her Instagram page, the outspoken artiste made it clear that true confidence does not come from cosmetic enhancements such as BBLs, liposuction, facelifts, or artificially whitened teeth.
Shatana, who is widely known not only for her music but also for being the cousin of the late legendary musician Terry Bonchaka, wrote, “You don’t need BBL, liposuction, facelift, or white teeth to feel beautiful or confident. You are enough. You are whole.”
Her message comes at a time when body modification trends are gaining popularity among young women in Ghana and across Africa, fuelled by social media influencers and celebrity culture.
However, Shatana’s statement brings a different perspective to the conversation one that encourages authenticity, self-love, and natural beauty.
Known for her fearless and thought-provoking commentary, Shatana has never shied away from addressing societal issues through both her music and public posts. In this recent message, she calls on women to embrace who they are without pressure from society or the internet’s unrealistic beauty standards.
Shatana’s post has been met with support from many of her followers, who praised her courage and sincerity. Several fans thanked her for using her platform to speak truth to power and advocate for self-acceptance.
While the debate around body enhancement continues to grow, Shatana’s message stands as a reminder that inner confidence and natural beauty are still powerful and valid.
Shatana is expected to release a new masterpiece later this year and continues to honor the legacy of her late cousin, Terry Bonchaka, by staying true to herself and her message.
