The Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Mr. Alex Apau Dadey, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Diaspora Award under the Business Excellence in Ghana category, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of Ghana will host the Diaspora Summit 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) from Friday, December 19 to Saturday, December 20, 2025, under the theme “Resetting Ghana: The Diaspora as the 17th Region.” The summit will be held under the auspices of President John Dramani Mahama, in his capacity as the African Union Champion for Reparations and Racial Justice.

The award will be presented during the Dinner and Awards Gala scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at the Banquet Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony forms part of activities marking the high-level summit, which is expected to attract Heads of State and Government, leaders of international organisations, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, development partners, and members of the global African diaspora.

The Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Diaspora Award recognises individuals whose work and commitment have significantly advanced socio-economic development, Pan-Africanism, diaspora engagement, reparative and social justice, and the promotion of Ghana’s global image.

Mr. Dadey’s selection comes on the heels of another major international recognition. In October 2025, the KGL Group Executive Chairman was honoured with the Forbes Best of Africa Corporate Leadership and Innovation Award at a Leadership and Philanthropy Forum held at the House of Lords in London. The award was presented by Mr. Mark A. Furlong, President of Custom Solutions Media for Forbes Media.

The Forbes accolade recognised Mr. Dadey’s outstanding corporate leadership, particularly his role in driving technological innovation and financial inclusion through KGL Group’s operations in Ghana and across Africa. Under his leadership, KGL Group has emerged as a key player in leveraging technology to support inclusive economic growth, responsible enterprise, and sustainable development on the continent.

Industry observers say the dual honours underscore Mr. Dadey’s growing stature as one of Africa’s most influential business leaders and a strong advocate for diaspora-led development and innovation.

The Diaspora Summit 2025 is expected to further deepen engagement between Ghana and Africans in the diaspora, while celebrating individuals whose contributions continue to shape the nation’s development journey.
