After the Will Was Opened, Nothing Was the Same—Adwoa Safo Explains Why

Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has spoken publicly about the growing tension within the family of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, claiming that the disagreement escalated after the family's will was officially opened.

According to Adwoa Safo, her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, became unhappy after learning how certain properties had been distributed in the will. She alleged that his disappointment has led to attempts to damage her reputation.

The former lawmaker also dismissed allegations that she demanded GH¢3.7 million from the Kantanka family before their father's burial. She described the claim as false and insisted she was not even in Ghana when discussions about the funeral arrangements began.

Adwoa Safo explained that communication from her brother's lawyers indicated the family intended to meet only after the late Apostle's will had been opened so they could discuss funeral preparations. She maintained that she played no role in the funeral committee because it included selected family members, church representatives and other stakeholders.

She further accused her brother of raising funds from members of the church across numerous branches established by their late father, stressing that she had never requested money from church members for the funeral.

Despite the public disagreement, Adwoa Safo said her focus remains on honoring her late father. She praised him for investing in her education both in the United States and the United Kingdom and pledged to give him the dignified burial he deserves.

The latest revelations have sparked fresh public discussion about the ongoing disagreements within the Kantanka family, with many Ghanaians closely following developments as preparations for the funeral continue.
