West Ham United are reportedly setting their sights on Liverpool’s talented goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher as a key target for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.
The Hammers are keen to bolster their goalkeeping options, and Kelleher’s impressive performances have caught their attention.
The 26-year-old Irish international has served as a reliable deputy to Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker, showcasing his quality in cup competitions and occasional Premier League appearances.
Despite his undeniable talent, Kelleher’s opportunities at Anfield have been limited, prompting speculation about his future.
West Ham see Kelleher as a potential long-term solution between the posts, especially with current goalkeepers Łukasz Fabiański and Alphonse Areola facing uncertainties.
Fabiański, now 40, is nearing the end of his contract, while Areola’s role has been questioned amid inconsistent form. Manager Julen Lopetegui is said to be an admirer of Kelleher’s composure, shot-stopping ability, and distribution skills, which align with his tactical vision.
Liverpool, however, are unlikely to let Kelleher go cheaply. The Reds value the Republic of Ireland star highly, and with his contract running until 2026, they could demand a significant transfer fee.
Kelleher has made 26 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, keeping 10 clean sheets, and his reliability makes him a valuable asset—whether as a starter elsewhere or a continued backup at Anfield.
For Kelleher, a move to West Ham could offer the chance to establish himself as a regular Premier League starter, a tempting prospect for a player of his ambition.
However, Liverpool’s reluctance to weaken their squad depth and West Ham’s need to navigate financial constraints could complicate negotiations.
As the summer window approaches, Kelleher’s future will be one to watch, with West Ham poised to make a bold move for the highly rated shot-stopper.
